Tenure Track Faculty Position in Theoretical Nuclear Physics at Kent State University

The Department of Physics at Kent State University invites applications for a tenure track Assistant or Associate Professor position in Theoretical Nuclear Physics, beginning fall 2012. We plan to add support to strong-interaction theory related to nuclear matter at high energy density or temperature, as typified by experiments at RHIC/LHC. The new position will complement present research strengths of our 6-person nuclear group spanning heavy-ion collisions at RHIC (the STAR experiment), hadron structure experiments at JLab and Mainz, and theoretical modeling of QCD for hadron physics. Successful candidates are expected to excel in teaching and mentoring at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and to establish a productive research program that attracts external funding. For a complete job description and to apply online, please visit our job site at jobs.kent.edu (position number = 999490). Applicants should submit a CV including a list of publications and talks, statements of research and teaching interests, and arrange to have at least three letters of recommendation sent to Prof. Declan Keane, Chair, Nuclear Theory Faculty Search Committee, Department of Physics, Kent State University, Kent, OH 44242. Submission of all materials by email to keane@kent.edu is preferred. Screening of applications will begin January 09, 2012 and will continue until the position is filled. KSU is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer; women and underrepresented minorities are strongly encouraged to apply.
